At the 9th China Mobility International Summit currently being held in Beijing, Wei Bing, director of the China Mobile Research Institute's Department of Network Technology, stated that a comparatively large amount of work would be required to ensure users could switch between 2G and 3G networks without needing to change their SIM card, and that the work would involve modifications and upgrades to China Mobile's (NYSE: CHL; 0941.HK) bac-kend systems.
